Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

Happy February, y’all!

I’m going to preface this post by saying that I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, but I also don’t turn down a chance to spread a little extra love. Picking out gifts is my super power and I love to give gifts year around to everyone in my life. While I usually gift experiences, this is a solid comprehensive list of things I would personally gift or want to receive. Check this list for yo’ woman, yo’ man, yo’ mom, yo’ dad, YO’SELF.

GlamGlow Bubble Sheet Mask

This is one of those products that I saw online and really wanted to try. There are pictures and videos of people that legit look like they have fur growing on their face because it foams up so much. Mine didn’t foam THAT much but it was still enough to take funny snapchats and laugh enough to annoy Logan. This would be a great gift for anyone who loves skin care and can easily be paired with a whole bunch of different types of gifts.

It left my face feeling really clean. I had a minor break out the following morning, but my face does that after any deep cleaning and then gets super clear.

Lush With Love Gift Box  and Lush In Your Dreams Gift Box

You’re about to find out that I love Lush. I think the next internet challenge should be trying not to take a picture of your bath when you use a bath bomb. Way better than eating Tide Pods, but I digress. When I need a quick gift, Lush gift boxes are my go-to. I get one for all the women in my family every Christmas and they all love them. Both of these are really good options for less than $25 and include a variety of products to make the giftee (is that a word?) feel v fancy in the bathroom.

A Question A Day Journal

I think this is a super cute idea and if I could commit to something that long, I would love to do it. I’m in to anything that seems like it would be a good mental health and “couple health” activity. I also like that this spreads the love for years to come instead of being just a Valentine’s Day gift.

Love Myself Candle

I once ordered 4 pints of Jeni’s ice cream to be delivered to myself and included a note saying “you deserve this”. When it arrived 4 days later, I thought Jeni’s wrote it to me, but alas, I wrote it to myself and forgot. But guess what, that made it even better because I did deserve it. Moral of the story: Self-Love is the best love and I’m about to gift this candle to myself.

Barbury’s Beard Shampoo

Logan uses this stuff and swears by it. If whoever you’re buying for has facial hair, this will keep it soft and smelling v fresh. It doesn’t dry out his face and its pretty cheap for a beard shampoo.

Pet Hair Remover

This is the only thing I asked for for Valentine’s Day. Now we wait.

Lush Love Hearts Gift Box and Lush Love Gift Box

Two more Lush options in the higher price range. Each box just has a little more and you honestly can’t go wrong. I like to get the most variety possible when I choose a gift box and make sure I get things the recipient will actually use (obvi). My mom doesn’t take baths *eye roll*, so I make sure not to get her any gift boxes with anything bath related. Easier said than done but not impossible at all.

Goddess Provisions Subscription Box

ICYMI, I was a witch in a past life so I’m interested in all things spiritual and  (and Stevie Nicks). This box has an array of products each month that aim to promote spiritual growth and natural health. This can come in the form of crystals, tea, aromatherapy, beauty products, snacks and other growth tools. Their website describes it as “a monthly box that lights up your soul”. Who doesn’t need the occasional soul lighting? Logan messed up my subscription he got me for Christmas (classic), so I didn’t get it in January but my December box was great. I’m planning on doing an unboxing post when my February box gets here, so stay tuned.

Dune Jewelry Stacking Ring

Logan and I met on Spring Break in Destin, Florida (I know, I know). For Christmas last year, he got me this stacking ring made from sand from the beach in Destin. I wear my ring every single day on my middle finger (pictured below). It’s really pretty and durable. I have to use hand sanitizer and wash my hands approximately 500 million times a day and it isn’t tarnished at all.  This company has sand from a ridiculous number of beaches from all around the world. They even have lakes and rivers if you’ve been dying to get your hands on an Ohio River ring.

Tommy John

I think this is stupid expensive for underwear but I’ve also never had male anatomy so I don’t know. But I do date someone with male anatomy who is constantly adjusting himself (if you watch Alabama football games, you’ve seen him do it on the sideline. Like on national television). Apparently these amazing underwear are a game changer and lead to fewer adjustments, which is good for everyone involved. He swears they’re worth the money and v comfy.

Carnivore Club Jerky Bouquet

If you follow me on Instagram, you know how excited I was to receive this. Like stupid excited. Logan and I also did a taste testing on my Instagram story to rank our jerkies (?) from favorite to least favorite. Honestly though, they were all good. If your Valentine is a meat eater they’ll for sure appreciate this bouquet. I would take this over flowers any day 100%. If you’re trying to prove your love is eternal, I don’t know a better way to do that than with meat that lasts forever.

Steve Madden Sneakers

This is another one that if you follow me on Insta, you know I bought these and fell in love. I kept walking past them and just never felt like trying to get them in my size. Side note: one of the worst feelings in the world is asking if shoes you love come in a size 11 and the sales person says “ooooh the biggest size we have is a 7.5”. At that point just don’t even talk to me. I would rather them completely ghost than report that back to me.

Anyway, I’m obsessed with these shoes. They’re comfy and I got them in one of my favorite neutral colors: camo. My only complaint is that they aren’t very breathable just because of the material they’re made out of. I don’t plan on doing anything athletic in them so it doesn’t bother me. They run a little big. I got a size 10 and usually wear an 11/11.5.

Sephora Perfume Sampler

When I first saw this in stores I thought it was the dumbest thing and only for people who didn’t realize they could get like a million perfume samples from Sephora for free. BUT I was made a believer because when you purchase this sampler, it comes with a voucher for a full sized bottle of any of the perfumes included in the set. I’m pretty sure all of them are worth more than the total price of the sampler. So you could get an $80 perfume for $60.

If you or someone you’re getting a gift for doesn’t have a staple scent or is looking for a new one, I definitely recommend this sampler. I bought it and have ranked all of them from best to least (in my humble opinion) and can write a full post on it if there’s enough interest.

Sephora Cologne Sampler

So this is the same deal as the perfume sampler but with cologne. Still a great deal and a great way to try out a whole bunch of scents.

Create a Drawer

So, I had no idea that this existed. This is one of those things that I’m pissed at myself for not thinking of inventing, along the same line as the Snuggie. Also they were on Shark Tank, so I really don’t know how I didn’t know it existed.

Essentially, you choose basics to “fill a drawer”. You get socks, underwear, undershirts and a “wild card” pick. The wild card ranges from joggers to hats to more socks. Each drawer is $60 with free shipping. I haven’t bought from them, but all the reviews I have read are great and everyone seems to love what they get.

Frye Boots

My biggest pet peeve is when you buy something expensive and its terrible quality. It ruins me. With that said, the only two shoe brands I will consistently spend a good amount of money on are Stuart Weitzman and Frye. Both of these brands have proven to have excellent craftsmanship and last through things they shouldn’t have been put through in the first place. Both Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx have good deals on Frye regularly. I got Logan a pair for Christmas and he wouldn’t take them off. My stepdad also got a pair for Christmas and texts me the occasional “Frye-day” pic heading into the weekend. Dad jokes.

I have 4 pairs of Frye’s, each a different style, and love all of them. They really do last through everything and are super comfortable. They do stretch some if you wear them a lot since they’re leather. The pair I wear all the time are a 10.5 and I usually wear an 11/11.5 but they’ve stretched out. I have another pair in 10.5 (because it was a steal and the biggest size. My toes are a little squished) and the other two are size 11. I would say either get your usual size or a half size down. 10/10 would recommend.

ABC Pants

Remember when I told you Logan has an issue with adjusting? Well I bought him a pair of the Lululemon Anti-Ball Crushing (ABC) pants to combat this issue. They’re his favorite pants now. They’re nice/dress pants but feel like athletic pants. He wears the khaki color for work all the time and the charcoal color for everything else. My stepdad also has a pair that he wears all the time.

Ray Ban Sunglasses

Alright, these are the cutest sunglasses. I love mine so much that I have two pairs. I bought them in my prescription originally and realized that when I wear contacts I don’t have any good sunglasses. So I bought them again without my prescription. If that doesn’t show how much I love them then I don’t know what does.

I hope this guide will help you find a gift you love for the people you love. I’m planning on taking all this love energy that surrounds this month and focus on self-love. It’s so important and sometimes you just need to remind yourself of why you’re so great. It doesn’t matter if you have a valentine, or 10 or 0 this year, self-love trumps it all. So, treat your self, love your self, and spread love to those around you.  Spend more time with the people you love, doing what you love and less time doing things with people who bring you down.
