Hey y’all,
I’m here to spread the good word about my favorite skin care products right now. All pictures are linked to where you can buy them!
First up, my Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate & Argan oil. This came in the mail at the perfect time. I think because of the weather, my skin has been drier than the heart of a haystack. This product can be used from head to toe (literally, it doubles as a hair oil). I’ve been using this in place of lotions to try to fix the fact that my skin is literally just flaking off.
I really like the spray bottle (think perfume), it helps to make sure you get an adequate amount without spilling oil all over yourself. The fact that it doesn’t leave your skin greasy at all, unlike some lotions and oils, is a game changer. You’re left with super soft skin and hair with an amazing smell. The only thing that may bother others, is the strong scent. It is pretty sweet smelling and may be too much when paired with perfume. I would give this a 9/10, just because of the scent possibly becoming over powering. With the code Heartbeat1m to get 20% off your order from Crabtree-evelyn.com.
Next up is a product I’ve been using off an on for awhile. I’m trying to get better about exfoliating regularly and so far this one is my favorite. It is the Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant by Aveda. This stuff is a liquid and most other exfoliants I’ve used have been thicker or in a bar form. I just put this one a cotton ball and wipe it all over my face. Even after I wash my face and everything, the cotton ball is still dirty every single time.
Instead of using solids to exfoliate, like most exfoliants, this one uses fruit acids. It also has witch hazel in it to calm your skin down as well. This is great for sensitive skin if traditional exfoliants are too abrasive. I would also give this a 9/10. The price is a little high at $23 for 5 oz, but I think its worth it! Side note: Aveda’s Pure Privilege Rewards Program is the best out there. I think it costs $10 to enroll, but you get 10 points for every dollar you spend. They are also always running specials where you’ll get double or even triple points on products throughout the year. The prizes are also amazing and I’m over halfway to earning a trip to Antigua. Right now they’re giving 300 bonus points when you purchase one of their many skin care, hair care, makeup, or body products. I will preach the good word of this program for as long as I live.
Alright, if you watch my Instagram stories, you know I love a good face mask. I plan on writing a big ol’ post with my favorite and least favorite masks I’ve tried. But for now, here is the newest one I’ve tried. It is the Mask of Magnaminty from Lush and I really like it. I have been obsessed with their bath bombs for as long as I can remember, but I’ve been trying to broaden my horizons and try some new products. This mask is minty and kind of smells like an Andes Mint. It’s a really thick formula and doubles as an exfoliant when you wash it off. I like this mask for just relaxing, but it didn’t feel like it really extracted anything from my skin. This might be because I’m used to GlamGlow and other brands who have super intense masks that feel like they’re burning your face off and I equate burning with working. Regardless, I do like this mask but it isn’t my favorite of all time. I would give it an 8/10 since it didn’t do as much for my skin as others and it is also a little pricey at $15 for 4.4 ounces.
Lastly, I couldn’t make it through a skin care post without at least one GlamGlow product. The GALACTICLEANSE Hydrating Jelly Balm Cleanser is my new go to face wash/ make up remover. It smells amazing, like all of GlamGlow’s products, and is great for my dry skin. When you use this, you put it on your dry face and kind of massage it in. You add warm water and it becomes a milky consistency instead of a foam. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth unlike a lot of cleansers that leave me dry. I also really like that the actual product matches the packaging, it’s black with a little bit of shimmer. As usual, my only complaint is the price. If it wasn’t $32 for 4.9 oz, it would be a 10/10 instead of a 9/10. If you don’t want to drop that cash on face wash, I suggest asking for a sample at Sehpora. I do that on the reg until I decide I want to actually give them my money.
Hopefully you found some of this information helpful if you’re looking for some new skin care products. I’m really trying to get a good routine going but its hard when I want to try everything. I’ll be posting my current favorites in make up, moisturizers, and face masks soon. Keep your eyes peeled!
Love this post!!! I’m definitely gonna try one of these products- always looking for new skin care routines!!!
